From Historical Patterns to Future Scenarios

Simulation is a way to ask “what if” with the assumptions written down.

Historical data describes what did happen. Decisions are about alternatives that did not: a different team, a different review policy, more agents or fewer.

Scenario simulation bridges the two, but only if its assumptions are visible. The Laboratory’s demonstration model lists every assumption and shows, for each result, which of your choices moved it and by how much.

The test

A simulator earns trust when its rankings of configurations match observed outcomes on projects it has not seen. Until then, its outputs are illustrations. That is how the Lab labels them.

This is a concept note. It reports no experiments and no results.
